General Policies


Taxes & Fees

All room rates are subject to a 10.5% combined local and state tax. There is a flat rate of $25 cleaning fee for each stay. Any additional fees will always be communicated in advance. 

Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in begins at 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival. We kindly ask that you check out by 11:00 a.m. and leave your keys in the lobby so our team can prepare for incoming guests. If you’re hoping for an early arrival or late departure, please let us know—we’ll do our best to accommodate whenever possible.

Room Holds for Events

Planning a wedding, reunion, or special gathering in Mineral Point? We’re happy to place a courtesy hold on our rooms for your guests. Rooms may be held for up to one week, allowing guests time to call and reserve under your event.

Cancellations

The full amount of your stay is charged at the time of booking. We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to arrival are non-refundable unless we are able to rebook the room.

Pet Policy

Pets are not permitted to stay overnight at the inn.

Candles

For safety reasons, traditional candles are not allowed. Flameless battery-operated candles and oil diffusers are welcome.

Smoking

The Lion and Porcupine is a non-smoking property. A $250 cleaning fee will be applied to any violation, and guests may be asked to vacate the premises.
